Cal Poly welcomes tour groups from all over the country every day. Campus Dining makes it easy for tour groups to enjoy a sit-down meal while they are experiencing all that Cal Poly has to offer. Please note that venues may be closed or have reduced hours/offerings during academic breaks.
Where can off-campus tour groups eat?
If your group would like pizza, we can connect you with the managers of Mustang Station to order your pizzas in advance. You can find an order form here. During “peak” lunch times, group orders are limited to cheese and/or pepperoni.
A popular option with tour groups is the Vista Grande Dining Pavilion, located across the street from the Welcome Center where most tours originate. At Vista Grande, we offer vouchers for $13.95 plus tax that include a meal and a fountain drink from the platforms on the second floor (excluding VG Express). Each dish is made to order, so we generally recommend that you allow ample time to order and eat if you are dining at one of the busier times of day (12 – 1 p.m.). Students are also able to order/pay individually with a debit/credit card at each of the locations (menus can be found here):
- Balance Café
- Brunch
- Hearth
- Mingle + Nosh
- Noodles
- Streats
- Sweet Bar

Frequently Asked Questions
What payment methods do you accept?
Purchases can be made with a debit/credit card. Please note that the only location on campus that accepts cash is Subway.
When should I plan for my group to eat?
If you are planning on dining at one of the restaurants in Vista Grande, we recommend avoiding high traffic times (12 – 1 p.m ) as each dish is made to order so it can take extra time to get your food.
Where can my group eat their food?
We recommend grabbing your food and enjoying it at one of our Outdoor Community Spaces.
Where can I eat if I have allergies or dietary restrictions?
We recommend Balance Café located in Vista Grande. Balance is free from the top eight allergens. All restaurants’ menus have icons for vegetarian, vegan and halal foods. For more information on dietary considerations please click here.
